No more than 1000 medallions will be released.
This beautiful medallion features engravings of the Victoria Cross and the George Cross medals. The medallion is minted from brass alloy and finished in highly polished and frosted silver, is 50mm in diameter and 5.5mm in thickness. Each medallion is housed in a presentation case and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
The medallion was struck for the special fundraising event held at the Australian War Memorial on the 1st of December 2012 in support of the Heart Foundation and the White Cloud Foundation. Each of the 350 guests that attended the function received a medallion donated by the Military Shop.
There were many very special guests that attended, including Her Excellency the Governor General, The Prime Minister, Victoria Cross recipients Corporal Ben Roberts-Smith VC MG, Keith Payne VC; Corporal Daniel Keighran VC, along with Michael Pratt GC, Australia's only living George Cross recipient. Her Excellency the Governor General was presented number 1 of the limited edition with the Prime Minister receiving number 2.
