The Australian Fire Service Medal (AFSM) is a significant recognition awarded to individuals who have displayed exceptional dedication and service in the field of fire services within Australia. Design
The medal, with a diameter of 38 millimeters, is made of copper-nickel. The obverse features a seven-pointed star of flames overlayed with the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. The reverse carries the inscription "FOR DISTINGUISHED SERVICE" in the centre, surrounded by upwards-rising flames, encircled by the inscription "AUSTRALIAN FIRE SERVICE MEDAL".
Ribbon
The accompanying ribbon features a central stripe of gold, bordered by green. The central band is overlayed with a red flame-like pattern.
If you order your medal unmounted, the medal and ribbon will be supplied as separate components. Miniature medals will be supplied with 15cm of ribbon and full size medals will be supplied with 30cm of ribbon.
