Eligibilty
The CSC is awarded to ADF members who have shown conspicuous devotion to duty or outstanding leadership qualities that have had a significant impact on their unit, organization, or the ADF as a whole. Design
The CSC features a midified silver Maltese cross, which depicts the Southern Cross surrounded by a laurel wreath. The reverse has a nameplate, typically engraved with the recipient's details. Copies are engraved with "Replica".

The accompanying ribbon has alternating stripes of dark green and sand-gold, running diagonally from the top left to bottom right of the ribbon.
