The Northern Territory Police Valour Medal is a distinguished award conferred by the Commissioner of Police to honour members who have exhibited extraordinary bravery in highly dangerous situations or who have acted courageously and responsibly when faced with potential or actual life-threatening danger. The award consists of a framed certificate along with an ornamental medal and bar, which are to be worn as unofficial honours.

In cases where an officer, who has previously received the Valour Medal, demonstrates exceptional bravery in perilous circumstances once again, a silver bar will be added to their existing Valour Medal.
If you order your medal unmounted, the medal and ribbon will be supplied as separate components. Miniature medals will be supplied with 15cm of ribbon and full size medals will be supplied with 30cm of ribbon.
